7 easy steps to make aromatherapy candles
1.Blend the scents
The best benefit to make aromatherapy candle by yourself is that you can make your own favorite one. Of course you can choose any essential oil you like, but to make it last longer, you better blend some types.
Duration and the diffusion speed is called Note, there’re 3 categories such as Top Note, Middle Note and Base Note. Top note is the first impression of the scent and the middle note is the scent afterward and the overall image. And the last one, base note is the scent which has a duration. To blend them, you can enjoy the scent for a long time. And when you get confused which oil to choose, choose from the same category for example, floral one.
2.Prepare a simple container
Some people might focus on the candle’s shape. But the important thing is to last the scent. So something simple to just pour in is recommended.
Of course you have to choose the one which doesn’t melt by the heat. The one with the cover makes you enjoy the fresh scent everytime. Probably a jar of jam is good for it.
3.Prepare well in advance
Timing is the most important fact of making an aromatherapy candle. So prepare everything in advance before you start. Needed materials are : Essential oil ( Better blended already ) and a container, beeswax, the core of candle and the base, the pot to melt the wax and water to cool down.
I recommend to use beeswax but you can also make from some thin candles. You can use the string and the chopsticks instead of the core and the base too. That’s all you need. Then wear something you can make them dirty.
4.Melt the beeswax
Let’s start making it when you’re fully ready. Put the beeswax in a pot, melt by the middle heat or heat in a water bath. If you use a white candle, make it into pieces before putting it in a pot. While it’s still liquid and hot, you can add a tiny piece of crayon to put some color.
5.Pour into a container
Set the core inside a pot. When you have a base and a core, set a core on a base and put it in the center of the container. If you use a string, pinch the string with the chopsticks then set in the container that the string comes to the center.
After you set the core, put the melted beeswax. You don’t have to put all the essential oil now because you need at the end too.
6.Put an essential oil
After you put the beeswax, next is the essential oil. Be careful to make the wax’s temperature low. If it’s too high, it becomes a volatile oil and if it’s too low, it doesn’t make the blended oil’s scent fixed.
So after putting the essential oil, stir up and mix well not to let the oil too much concentrated. Beeswax is easy to get solid so make it quickly. Keep about 10 drops oil because you still need to put at the end.
7.Make it cool down and it’s done
After putting the essential oil, make a container cool down in a water bath. Make a cold water as high as the height of the beeswax. When it’s getting solid, take the container out and put the beeswax again into it.
Put the rest of the essential oil and stir, then make it cool down again.
When it gets totally solid, the aromatherapy candle is done. When you use the string, cut it into an adequate length.
So, how was that?
Aromatherapy candle is done in such an easy procedure. Do you think you can do it now? At the beginning it might not look well but you’ll get used to so make many candles.
You can challenge so many kinds. It’ll dissolve your stress by surrounded by the good scents.
So please enjoy your favorite scent by making your own aromatherapy candles.
